Is it necessary as a Travel Professional to use Social Media in your marketing?  In this day in age the answer in short is yes.  With more and more people, even those who at one time said they would never jump on the Social Media train, are now heeding the “all aboard” call.  With the introduction of Corona Virus more and more have had to rely on the internet and in turn Social Media to market their businesses.  So, what are some benefits of using Social Media in marketing as a Travel Professional? 




Here are a few benefits you should be getting from your Social Media.


  • Social Media helps spread your brand awareness.  Do you as Travel Professional have a personal mission when it comes to helping people with travel?  Put it in your Social Media posts.  What sets you apart from the company across town?  Let people know your skills and what you have to offer that will make them feel comfortable booking with you.  Use of Social Media and linking these avenues to your website gets you better known and generates more traffic to your website.  Be sure to use your business name and logo when creating your profiles.  This makes your brand recognizable and easy to find by those who are looking for you.


  • Be Social after all it is called “Social Media”.  So, when people make a comment or ask a question be sure to answer in a timely manner.  Be sure to comment back even when people make a comment about your business.  Even if for some reason it is negative feedback be sure to correct the issue and show that you are committed to making things right.  People appreciate being acknowledged and heard.  Take suggestions into consideration and thank people for their interest in making your business the best it can be.  


  • Share information about your Company and the team that people will work with.  In the Travel Industry today people are looking for companies that are on top of all the rules and restrictions that are in place when it comes to the Corona Virus.  Share with your audience the things that you have implemented to make their trips safe.  Share a bit about yourself and your team.  This build confidence and makes it easier for potential clients to feel as if they know you and can trust you with their travel needs.
