How to Promote Travel to Hawaii

Crashing waves, blue sky, warm weather and whale watching are among the many reasons people love to travel to Hawaii. However, this year has brought many changes in how we travel. With social distancing, quarantining and corona virus testing among the possible pre-travel checklist how do you reach those travelers who are still wanting the Hawaiian experience despite all the changes?

Here are some ideas to keep in mind.

  • Are you aware of restrictions that may still be in place for those who are wanting to visit the Hawaiian Islands? Are there different restrictions for each island? As a travel professional the more you are educated as to all the changes that may happen often the more you will be able to educate your clients. Use your Social Media to post changes as they come in. Are there areas that you are aware of that will make it easier and faster for travelers to get an approved covid test if necessary, before travel? If so, let your followers know this vital information. Make sure the information is correct and up to date. Travelers want to feel confident in their travel agent and know that they have their back when it comes to being correctly informed.

  • Use your blog articles to showcase islands and places to stay while on the island that are currently booking travelers and taking all the precautions necessary to protect their guests. List activities that you have verified that are open and contact information so that travelers can book with them to ensure that they will be able to do the things on their wish lists. Are there restrictions while on the islands that travelers should be aware of? Such as no indoor dining or having to wear facemasks while roaming around town or at the beach? Give them this information while still staying positive and motivating them to still feel excited about booking a trip. The more you can inform people the more this will set you up as an expert that knows your stuff. This in turn will build confidence and keep you on the minds of those looking for a travel agent to help them navigate all these changes.

Travel has and always be a big part of life. Taking time out to rejuvenate and enjoy time with family and friends is important. We have had to face a lot of changes in the year of Corona Virus.
